Serpenteando entre las estaciones de esquí de los Cárpatos, el Valle del Prahova nos lleva hasta el castillo de Peles, una de las residencias reales más impactantes de Europa. Sin inmutarnos por la siniestra reputación de Transilvania, entramos en esta tierra mítica, bautizada por los romanos y antiguamente disputada ferozmente por rumanos, húngaros, turcos y austríacos. En la cercana ciudad amurallada de Braşov pasearemos las calles del casco antiguo medieval, dominado por la majestuosa catedral gótica de siglo XIV, conocida como La Iglesia Negra. Seguimos con una visita al complejo fortificado de varios pisos de Prejmer (UNESCO), donde las familias más importantes tenían su propio cuarto preparado para darles cobijo durante las frecuentes invasiones. Por la tarde, nos registramos en un hotel de lujo, antigua residencia de un barón local. Aprovecha la piscina o tómate un descanso mientras llega el carro de caballos que nos llevará, en 20 minutos, a través de los campos, a un aprisco, donde los pastores nos esperan con una cena memorable con quesos de producción propia, aguardientes y estofado humeante cocinado sobre el fuego.
